Stephen Curry injury update: Warriors have no concerns about star’s ankle

The Warriors aren’t worried about Stephen Curry.

The guard suffered a minor foot/ankle sprain when he stumbled while dribbling near the 3-point line in the first quarter of his team’s win over the Pelicans on Tuesday. Curry was taken back to the locker and later ruled out for “precautionary reasons.”

Golden State coach Steve Kerr, however, told reporters one day after the injury that Curry was feeling “good” and he had no concerns.

The Warriors held Curry out of their regular-season finale against the Grizzlies on Wednesday. Kerr said previously he expected the star to be ready for the start of the playoffs.

"We think he's going to be fine,” Kerr said after the victory against New Orleans. “He tweaked it, but we weren't going to mess around."

Curry will finish the regular season averaging 27.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 33.8 minutes per game. He shot 47.2 percent from the field and 43.7 percent from 3-point range.

The 31-year-old has made six All-Star teams, been named the MVP twice and won three NBA championships during his 10-year career.
