With both the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors leading their respective first-round series 3-1, the stage has been set for an epic rematch of last year's Western Conference Finals.
Both teams have quite a bit of history playing one other in both the regular season and the playoffs, which should make for an amazing series.
If you recall, the Rockets were bounced by the Warriors in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals last season.
Golden State's Klay Tompson made it clear on Tuesday that he and his team knows how eager Houston for a rematch.
They're a great team. They got two hall of fame guards in the back court and everyone else has carved out a nice role. We've had a ton of history with them the last five years in the playoffs. I know they're just itching to get another shot at us. When two teams meet like that on a stage that high, it makes for the best basketball in the world.
Thompson showed a lot more respect for the Rockets than expected.
With Houston having an 8-6 record against the Warriors over the past four years, it makes sense that Golden State has a level of respect for Houston that they don't have for other teams.
Neither teams have won their respective series yet, but it's highly unlikely neither don't.
