Bugatti Veyron

Remember this one-of-a-kind Bugatti Veyron? It was done up in a special Transformers-themed livery, and first crossed our radar screens a couple of years ago. And now it’s coming back up for grabs.

The seven-figure hypercar wears a special blue paintjob with a tone-on-tone geometric pattern derived from the Transformers logo. It even has the emblem inlaid between the seats in the similarly upholstered cockpit, arguably making it the ultimate ride for fans of the Hasbro toys and all the movies and shows they’ve spawned over the years.

Special appearance aside, this Veyron is a Vitesse roadster. It’s one of only 92 said to have been built, combining the open top of the Grand Sport with the 1,200-horsepower, 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine from the record-setting Super Sport coupe.

It was built late in 2014 as the Molsheim factory in the Alsace region of France was winding down production of the Veyron in preparation for the arrival of the newer Chiron. In the years since, the special roadster has accrued just 840 kilometers (522 miles) – most of which is believed to have been put on during testing prior to delivery.

The one-off Bugatti has spent most of its life so far in the United States, and has popped up for sale a couple of times already. Now its current owner in Europe is putting it back up for auction in Monaco in a couple of months. RM Sotheby’s will sell it off on May 12 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, where it’s sure to fetch a million or two. But at this rate, we won’t be surprised to see it come up for sale again in the near future.
